(by BB Domino 1087, by BB Domino 427) A legend in his own lifetime! He was the most consistent breeding son of ‘1087’ in the U.K. Most of our cows carry his breeding. His influence is immense. 16 of his sons have been used in pedigree herds. Oxhill Laurence (by Oxhill Visa, by CH 3223 Visa ET 57X) Champion Bull Calf of All Ireland 1994 before he was purchased for Westwood. His pedigree reads like a Who’s Who of Irish Hereford breeding. He has worked well on ‘Ben’s’ daughters, each sire complementing the other. 16 of his sons have been used in pedigree herds. Ervie King Kong (by Ervie Flashy, by PDHR L1 Pacesetter 25S) He was Male Champion at the Royal Highland Show and purchased from the Douglas family at 5 years of age. His dam was an outstanding daughter of ‘1087’. King Kong was grand sire of 2009 Bull of the Year, Westwood Advancer. Mara Javelin (by Brook Finalist, by Clipston Commander) Used at Westwood late in his life with the generous help of the Lury family of Oakleaf Herefords in Somerset. He is from the Rowington Diadem family that previously bred our great old of the 1970’s, Rowington Upholder. His son Westwood Wayfarer has left productive daughters in the Herd. Dieulacresse Ralph (by Haven Grampian, by BP Andy Commander 4S) A First Prize winner at the National Hereford Show. His dam, Walcroft Dowager J5, carried very similar breeding to Mara Javelin. His early calves show great promise. Used at Westwood was his interbreed winning son Westwood Vintage and now his son Westwood Factor. Their work is adding to the great daughters left by Ralph. We will continue to introduce ‘Significant Sires’ to our herd as they become available. For further information on our breeding programme please ask for our brochure.
